South Simcoe residents have a chance to divert their old electronics away from the landfills April 21 and 22.
The Alliston and District Chamber of Commerce, Sears Alliston, and Thriftopia.com in Barrie are teaming up to take away some types of old electronics for free.
Thriftopia.com is an electronics recycling business that takes old computer and electronics equipment and recycles them.
The drop off point is Sears, at 536 Victoria St. E., at the east end of town. It will be from 9:30 a.m. to 5 p.m., April 21 and 22.
The ADCC is encouraging everyone to take advantage of this offer and get rid of all the old equipment that has been cluttering up storage and office space.
Items that will be accepted include computer equipment, cameras, fax machines, printers, scanners, DVD players, and more.
Photocopiers, televisions, monitors or appliances will not be accepted due to space limitations and hazardous waste disposal costs.
