If the city agrees to construct a new fire hall/museum on the site of Dunlop Arena, I suggest that the City Council instruct staff to investigate the feasibility of slightly enlarging the proposed building to include facilities that could be used by The David Busby Centre, which is in need of larger premises.
The presence of firefighters in the adjacent building ensures security 24 hours a day, seven days a week.
I realize that some people may object to having The David Busby Centre so close to Barrie Central Collegiate, but the fact is that the clients of The David Busby Centre are already there, living and functioning in the downtown close to the school.
