I'm a volunteer at RVH and I resent the implication in the letter of Nurse Herbert that I am somehow inferior because I don't get paid for my labours.
I think her objections have more to do with union solidarity than with privacy concerns. We are subject to the same guidelines and penalties as any paid staff.
We are concerned people trying to help the sick and not just people "doing it on the cheap."
