During the upcoming March Break, the MacLaren Art Centre has three unique art camps, developed for every age group, and each designed with creativity, fun and flexibility in mind.
Bob Kain, a well-known local cartoonist and illustrator, will be instructing the newest camp, Graphic Novels, developed for children nine to 15 years of age.
This new type of contemporary literature is gaining in popularity, and in this half-day program, campers can develop and create their very own graphic novel.
Kinder Camp is also a half-day program, designed for children from three to five years of age. The children will learn and play with a number of different materials in the grand Carnegie Room, so their imagination can run wild.
Campers can either register for the full week, March 10 to March 14, or just for a morning.
March Break Camp is designed for children ages six to nine years old. In this full-day camp, which runs from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., the group will explore the art of printmaking, drawing, painting and sculpture.
Campers can register for the full week, or by the day. Registration is now open. Spaces are limited. Group sizes are kept small to ensure a quality learning experience.
To register, contact Melissa Robertson at Melissa@maclarenart.com, or call 720-1044, ext. 234.
Fees for each of the camps vary between $20 and $30 per day. For more information, including rates, hours and a fuller description of each camp, visit the Website
