Talk Is Free Theatre (TIFT) says Jennifer Stewart will join TIFT’s March Break Musical Theatre camp as the lead instructor for the 10-14 age group session.

This session will be held at the Dorian Park Community Centre in Barrie’s Sunnidale Park. The 6-9 age group session, held concurrently, will be taught by Director of Education Carleigh Aikins. Its location is Cingolani Academy for the Arts at 33 Alliance Boulevard.

Both sessions run from Monday, March 10 to Friday, March 14, from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. At the end of the week, each group will perform a musical production for family and friends that they will have developed in the course of the camp.

Participants may recognize instructor Jennifer Stewart from her starring role as the gum-chewing Penny Pingleton from the Toronto production of the hit musical, Hairpsray.

Since then Jennifer appeared in numerous Talk Is Free Theatre productions including Emily, Harvest Moon Rising, The Inspector General and Anyone Can Whistle. Last spring she also directed TIFT’s hit production of Bye Bye Birdie and appeared in White Christmas at Toronto’s Sony (Hummingbird) Centre.

“Talk Is Free is a small theatre with a large heart and even larger reputation. I am honoured to help area’s young people develop their performance skills and well rounded appreciation of musical theatre”, said Jennifer Stewart. “March Break will be a guaranteed week of fun, laughter, and theatrical adventures."

The cost is $170 per participant for the entire week. Previous experience is not essential. Enrolment is limited. Registrations can be made by calling TIFT Box Office at 792-1949 or in person at TIFT’s office at Suite 516, 80 Bradford St. Monday-Friday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
