A man acting strangely near a downtown hotel attracted Barrie Police attention Thursday night.
Officers said he was nervous and after a search, crack cocaine was found, along with drug paraphernalia. The man was charged with possession for the purpose of trafficking and breach of probation.

Son stopped in car
Barrie Police stopped four teens Thursday night after the vehicle they were in was reported stolen.
Officers said the owner’s son was driving and was charged with taking the auto without owner’s consent. The group was also charged with several other offences, including drug counts.
Wanted man arrested
A man going through downtown Barrie was stopped by a Barrie Police officer and charged with numerous crimes, among them, impaired driving, dangerous driving, failing to appear for identification, failing to appear in court and failing to comply with probation.
Two weeks in jail
A woman stopped by Southern Georgian Bay OPP was wanted by Barrie Police for driving while under suspension. Officers took her to the Central North Correctional Centre to serve 15 days.

A 58-year-old man sleeping in a public washroom at Centennial Beach was told to move by Barrie Police recently. Officers cautioned the man under the Trespass to Property Act, but sent him away without charges.
Injured man in the woods
A man camping in the woods near Sproule Drive had to call for help Thursday morning.
He was heard yelling after hurting his sciatic nerve, and he was unable to move.
He had been reported missing by London Police Wednesday night and was taken to Royal Victoria Hospital by Barrie Police.
