Barrie’s first Mini Winners Walk of Hope in support of Ovarian Cancer Canada will take place Sept. 7.
The walk not only raises funds for ovarian cancer programs and research, it’s also an opportunity to raise awareness about this type of cancer, and educate women on the signs and symptoms of the disease.
Fourteen Walks of Hope are held annually across the country. The mini walks are communities for those who can’t make it to the main locations.
The Barrie Mini Winners Walk of Hope takes place Sept. 7 between 9 a.m. and noon. It starts at the Lions Pavilion in Centennial Park.
