Join the local Red Bull Flugtag team tonight at a fundraising bash downtown Barrie.

The Frisbee In the Sky with Diamonds team, consisting of Kevin Morris, Dan Walley, Mike Kubica, Kevin Scriver and Kyle Taylor, will be at the Kensington Bar on Dunlop Street East Friday starting at 9 p.m.

The team plans to hold a 50/50 draw to help raise some cash for their flugtag project. The Flugtag is an event where teams build a non-motorized craft, much like the Wright brothers.

It has to be big enough for a person to ride on, and it is launched off a ramp and into the water before thousands of people. The team whose creation soars the furthest distance before crashing wins the competition.

This year's Red Bull Flugtag is being held in Ottawa Aug. 3.
