The Barrie Film Festival, the City of Barrie and the Barrie Professional Firefighters present Lawnchair Luminata, a series of outdoor film screenings at Heritage Park.
Bring your blankets and lawn chairs down to Barrie's beautiful waterfront and enjoy the magic of watching a film under the stars.
All films are free admission.
The series kicks off with the Rob Reiner 1987 laughfest The Princess Bride, Wednesday night, June 25, with the show starting around 9:15 p.m., weather permitting. The film stars Billy Crystal and Mandy Patinkin.
Reiner breathes vividly coloured cinematic life into William Goldman's book, effectively evoking the wondrous, wide-eyed spirit of the witty 1973 novel. A clever fairy tale for all ages, The Princess Bride is arguably one of the funniest and most entertaining films of all time. Rain date is Thursday, June 26.
The series continues with the Bill Murray comedy, Groundhog Day on Wednesday, July 16, (rain date the following day), and Steven Spielberg’s classic E.T.: The Extra-Terrestrial, Wednesday August 20 (sorry, no rain date).
