Happy paddling:
The Barrie Canoe and Kayak Club meets for Paddle Nights every Monday and Wednesday night from 6:30 p.m. until dusk. Please join them at the Southshore Centre, located at 205 Lakeshore Dr., on the south side of Kempenfelt Bay, to try out a canoe or kayak, hone your existing skills, or pick up new ones.
This summer free clinics will be offered on paddle nights, so click the link for updates.  Monday and Wednesday night paddles run until Aug. 27 (except for the Civic Day Weekend).

Foresters Museum:
The public is invited to visit the Grey & Foresters Regimental Museum at 36 Mulcaster St. It’s open Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays, 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. until the end of November. Admission is free. For more information, call 728-5893.

Nar-Anon meetings:

Nar-Anon is for those who know or have known a feeling of desperation concerning the addiction problem of someone very near to them.  Members have traveled that road, too. Join them at Grove United Church, 350 Grove St. East on Tuesday evenings at 7 p.m.

Concert band:
The Barrie Concert Band performs in the rotunda at Barrie City Hall, Tuesday, June 24, at 7:15 p.m. Free admission, all are welcome.

Cookstown Strawberry Supper:

St. John’s Anglican Church in Cookstown is holding its strawberry supper Wednesday, June 25, from 4:30 to 7 p.m. Admission is $12.

Stroud Strawberry Supper:

Stroud Presbyterian Church presents its Annual Strawberry Supper, all you can eat cold buffet, Wed., June 25.
All are welcome to join in a great meal, continuous seating from 4:30 to 7:00 p.m., takeout is also available.  
Please call 436-7939, 436-3107 or 431-2490 for tickets or pay at the door. Adult admission is $12, children under nine, $5. Stroud Presbyterian Church is located at 2180 Victoria St., Stroud.

Leprosy Mission:

The Barrie Auxiliary of Leprosy Mission Canada meets at the First Christian Reformed Church, 33 Shirley Avenue, Thurs., June 26 at 2 p.m.
A special guest from head office will tell of her recent experiences in India.

Central Strawberry Supper:
Join Central United Church, 54 Ross St. in Barrie, for its Strawberry Supper, Thurs., June 26, for 5 p.m. and 6:30 p.m. sittings. Cost is $13.

Parkview Singers perform:

The Parkview Singers, a non-profit choir, is holding a public rehearsal, Thurs., June 26 from 10-11:30 a.m., at the Parkview Centre, 189 Blake St.
A freewill offering will be taken for the Busby Centre.

Wing events:

RCAF 441 Wing is a volunteer organization serving the Barrie and District Community through donations raised by various fund raising events, held at the RCAF 441 Wing headquarters, Highway 90.  

The Friday night supper on June 27 is served at 5:30 p.m., for $6 per person, tickets available at the bar. Come and enjoy cards and friendship in the afternoon, with a meal to follow. For further information call the Wing at 705-726-5110, Tues. to Friday after 4:30 p.m.

Also this Friday, the Wing Turkey Shoot starts at 10:30 a.m., light breakfast served. Come out and try your luck at winning great prizes!

Promenade Days:
The Gingham Door, 114A Dunlop St. E., is holding its end of season Promenade Days Sale Friday through Monday, June 27-30.

Women’s summer clothes are offered at rock bottom prices. Everything must go!

Barbecue Fundraiser:
Gilda’s Club is holding a fundraising barbecue, Fri., June 27 from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m., at the National Bank branch, 487 Bayfield Street.
Come and enjoy sausage, hot dog & drinks.

ANAF events:
The Army, Navy, Air Force Club at 7 George Street in Barrie, invites you to take in the live music in the canteen lounge. Fri., June 27, dance to the stylings of the Steve Michaels Band, starting at 8 p.m., and Sat., June 28, to John French, starting at 8:30.

Monday night mixed darts continues, likewise Wednesday night progressive euchre, and Saturday afternoon meat darts.
