The Build for Gilda’s will officially get underway this Friday.

The Greater Barrie Home Builders Association and the Barrie Construction Association have teamed up to build a home over the course of the weekend.

The shovels will hit the dirt Friday morning at 6 a.m. Local builders will work on the home located at 33 Thicketwood Ave. over the weekend. The home is expected to be complete Sunday afternoon.

More than 100 companies have pitched in with materials, supplies and man-hours for the build. A number of local restaurants have also signed up to supply food and drink to the builders.

Once the home is finished it will be put up for sale. All proceeds from the sale of the house will go directly to Gilda’s Club of Barrie to help build a club facility in Barrie.
