Barrie-Simcoe Insurance Brokers Association Ltd. is hosting its first Brokers Give Back golf tournament and is using the day, Sunday, June 15, to raise funds to put back into our community.

The Brokers have partnered with the Simcoe County Children’s Aid Society in an effort to send at-risk children and youth to summer camp. This tournament gives kids who would not otherwise have the opportunity a chance to enjoy the wonderful experience of summer camp free from the stresses of home life and on a level playing field with their peers.

"We are very excited about this partnership," explains Wayne Hubbard, President of the Board of Directors. "There are always more kids who could benefit from a week at camp – benefit from the opportunity to try new things, build self esteem and make life-long friends."

Sunday’s tournament at Bear Creek Golf Club is the first of what the Insurance Brokers Association hope will be many opportunities for broker's to give back. The event begins at noon with a shotgun start.

"We really want to make this year’s tournament a big success, and put smiles onto the faces of children in our community who receive service from the Children's Aid Society," says Gary Mowforth, Co-chair 2008 Simcoe-Barrie Brokers Association Golf Tournament.

"This community is supportive of our work and it just makes sense to be supportive of our community."
