Bridge Club seeks members:
New lady bridge players are welcome to join RVH Marathon Bridge Club for the 2008-09 season.

Ten games are played from September 2008 to May 2009. Each player pays $30 for the year, all in support of Royal Victoria Hospital.

This is a great way to meet new friends, reacquaint with old friends and play some entertaining bridge.

New Earth Summer School:
Did you read A New Earth, but wanted to ask some questions? Maybe you started it but didn’t quite get it? This class is for those who would like to explore Eckhart Tolle’s concepts in more detail, find ways to apply them in their daily life and talk with others about what they are reading.

Teen Survivor:
Eight books start. Only one will survive.

If you are a teen with a Barrie Public Library card, you can vote books off the island until only one survives. Starting June 30, and continuing until Aug. 22, teens can click on the voting link beside each book to vote online. For more information contact Cindy Pomeroy-White at 728-1010, ext 7016.

Grieving Children Camps:
Grieving Children at Seasons Centre is looking at Volunteer Camp Counsellors to work with bereaved children at their Grief Busters Day Camp.

You must be at least 16 years of age.

Use of a car is necessary. Camp dates are July 7-11 or July 14-18.

Fetal Alcohol Support:
The Barrie Fetal Alcohol Support Group meets to discuss children's life difficulties, offer help, information and support.

The next support group meeting is Wednesday, June 11, from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m., 49 High St., Suite 101A – 2, Barrie. Access parking lot off Toronto Street. Entrance to office is at the side of the building.

Planned Giving Seminar:
Trinity Church, 24 Collier Street, is holding a Planned Giving Seminar, Thursday, June 12 at 7 p.m.

Topics including stocks and bonds, taxation tips and traps, wills, and life insurance will be presented and discussed. Call 728-2691.

Stamp Club Meeting:
The Barrie District Stamp Club will hold its June 2008 meeting on Thursday, June 12, at St. Andrew's Presbyterian Church, Owen and Worsley Streets, at 7 p.m. Visitors and young people aged eight and up are welcome. Call 726-5019 for information.

ANAF events:

The Army, Navy and Air Force Club (Unit #365), located at 7 George Street in Barrie invites you to dance to the sounds of Double Barrel, Friday, June 13, 8:30 p.m. to 1 a.m., to the sounds of Forgotten Memories, Saturday, June 14, 8:30 p.m. to 1 a.m.

The Monthly General Meeting is set for Sunday, June 15, at 2 p.m., followed by the Social and annual Father’s Day barbecue.

Golf Classic at Bear Creek:
The eighth-annual Jackson's Toyota Golf Classic will once again be at Bear Creek Golf Club on Friday, June 13. This year, the proceeds are in support of Sister Catherine Donnelly Catholic School Outdoor Activity Centre.

The day consists of a registration gift, lunch, a round of golf, a cocktail reception and dinner. There will also be on-course challenges such as longest drive, closest to the pin, a putting contest and more. Great silent auction items will also be available for bidding.
