Two athletes from the Kempettes Pre-Competitive program traveled to Vaughan this past weekend to compete at the Vaughan Gymnastics Club Invitational Competition, and clicked for multiple medals.

Taylor Priest, in the Level 2 category for seven year olds, won gold in the vault and parallel bars, bronze on the beam and silver on the floor and overall. She also received a judges’ award for most dynamic vault.

Gilllian Barnett took gold on the bars and the beam, silver on the floor and overall.

The athletes, coached by Kim Poole, train 13 hours per week.

This was Gillian’s and Taylor’s first gymnastics competition.
