The unbeatable Stayner team skipped by Jim Robbinson, with George Peart and Gerry Cox won the 43rd-annual competition for the coveted T. Russell Matthews Trophy held May 10 in the Barrie Sports Dome - the home of the Barrie Lawn Bowling Club.

Carol Finlayson’s Midland team won the second place honours, and Barrie’s team of Raj Rajalingam, Ralph Lougheed and Jim Reynolds, the high two-game winner, came in third.

A total of 14 teams from Oshawa, Agincourt, Hamilton, Orillia, Midland, Stayner and Barrie participated.

The next competition will be for the Georgian Pontiac Trophy on May 24 at The Dome, 99 Hanmer Street, Barrie.
