Recent articles in your paper and letters to the editor with respect to “Les Fox Character References” requires me to write this letter in support of the Seasons Centre, our Executive Director Patricia Copeland and the many children we assist.

The letter in question from Patricia was written well prior to his conviction. It was written in support of Fox’s political campaign and was based on her knowledge of his strong work in the community at that time. He was an active member of the Chamber of Commerce, Talk is Free Theatre and the Advisory Board at her place of employment at the time he asked for the reference.

We at the Seasons Centre and all those associated with us are appalled and disgusted with Fox and his heinous crimes. To imply our Executive Director supported the actions of Fox in any way what so ever with respect to these crimes on children is inaccurate and irresponsible journalism. The outrage should be directed at the criminal activities of Fox as his conviction has proven.

For over 12 years, our organization has provided support to children in our community as they grieve the loss of a loved one. We receive no government support and rely entirely on the generosity of this community and the many volunteers who assist us in our mission.

Doing the work we do is not easy and requires a lot of dedication and support from a lot of people. Your implications make our job that much harder.
