Two of 15 puppies that are under the care of the SPCA after they were taken from a Clearview Township site.

A slew of kittens and puppies were taken from a property in Clearview Township, west of Barrie, on Monday morning after Barrie SPCA branch investigators received a complaint of a possible puppy and kitten mill.

Fifteen puppies and 12 kittens were removed from the property under the orders of the OSPCA.

Several of the animals needed immediate medical attention, said an SPCA official.

The puppies, starting in age at five weeks old, are currently in foster care where they will reside until necessary medical treatment has been carried out and they are ready for adoption.

The foster care, being provided by Julie and Jack Robson of Barrie, is part of an OSPCA volunteer program that is open to any resident in the community who has some extra time and loves to give to animals in need.

“It’s about bringing animals back to life and showing them that there is love in the world,” says Julie Robson.

For more information about when the puppies and kittens will be ready for new homes, contact the Barrie SPCA branch at 728-7311.
