Booze heist nets two arrests

A Barrie man and woman were taken into custody Tuesday in connection with a liquor store robbery last week.

The break-in took place Tuesday, May 6 at the LCBO in Stroud, where a fair amount of booze was taken, and then transported to a house on Trillium Crescent near Burton Avenue and Huronia Road.

Police executed a search warrant at the dwelling on Tuesday and seized the alcohol, along with a quantity of crack cocaine, marijuana and a Taser.

The 56-year-old man faces stolen property, weapons and possession charges, while his 47-year-old female alleged accomplice is up on possession charges.
