High Enforcement Action Team (HEAT) officers from Barrie Police broke up a fight Monday night near Memorial Square between two men.
One of them told officers he was trying to help fend off an attack on a buddy of his and the buddy’s girlfriend. He was let go.
The other guy, though, was found with a knife, baggies of marijuana and a scale.
He was taken in for three counts of assault, possession and weapons charges.

A woman was found near the house of an alleged victim Monday, contrary to what the courts told her.
A judge had ordered to stay away from someone she was charged with assaulting when she was arrested last week. The judge also required her to keep away from the other party’s house and the booze.
She flouted all three warnings and finds herself back in police custody awaiting a bail hearing.
He was a bit too fresh
A chap with too much rocket fuel in his engine was found Monday weaving his way into and out of both washrooms at a Tim Hortons on Hart Drive.
The 49-year-old man was arrested for public intoxication and lodged in the cells until he sobered up.
